Bill Jeffries, Director
Bill began his music career at an early age and became part of the band at Bessemer High School where he got his first swing band experience. He followed this with a tour in the Navy Music program playing in a Navy swing band. After the Navy, Bill enrolled at the University of Alabama as a music major playing in the “Million Dollar Band” and the “Alabama Cavaliers” dance orchestra. He then was a high school band director for several years, and always had a swing band. Bill was also in the Army Reserve Band where he was the jazz Band leader. Bill joined the Joe Giattina Orchestra as a trombonist in 1979 and became leader in June 1992.
